Critique for The United States should provide a Universal Health care

On December 05, 2018 a blogger posted an article titled “TheUnited States should provide a Universal Health Care.” The blogger explains that the price of health care in the United States is too high, and many Americans can’t afford to pay their monthly copays. Many families are left with the endless amount of bills to pay after a hospital visit, making it impossible for average people to ever catch up. In result it causes many Americans to file for bankruptcy due to the amount of unpaid medical bills.

I agree with the blogger health care should be available and affordable to every American no matter if you have a high paying job or not. Many people will benefit from it allowing them to have a better quality of life and no need to worry about high medical bills. Medical bills are one thing and prescription medication is another. The prices of some of the medication as ridiculous, $300.00 for a 30 day’s supply of heart medication. Yes, of course some pharmacies are nice enough to have a saving plan for all routine medications but, what happens when the medication is not on that savings plan formulary? Well the patient is now having to pay out of pocket for the highly priced medication or the just refuse to pay because they can’t afford it. Now that person will spend thousands of dollars in medical bill and didn’t even received the full treatment and may possibly end up back at the hospital or doctor’s office. The government will also benefit from it as well, they can put a health care plan in place that will be affordable to every -one no matter your income status, in the process saving money and taking care of its citizens. We are all humans and we should be treated as such. I also liked that the blogger included evidence to support his article.

Should Birth Control be Free?

Many American argue that birth control should be free to all woman since insurance itself is so expensive on its own making it unfair for lower income women to afford the ridiculous copays or deductibles.  Since 2011 woman haven’t paid for their monthly birth control prescriptions thanks to the Affordable Care Act placed by Barack Obama, but all may change since Donald Trump is getting rid of the Affordable Care Act. Denying many women all over the United State to get their birth control for free, and from my understanding this only applies if the women that have insurance, that being a personal insurance obtained from their job or government issued insurance such as Medicaid. Still leaving many women struggling to obtain their birth control at a reasonable price they can afford.

I believe birth control should continue to be a free benefit for all woman with or without insurance. Birth control is not just a contraceptive it has many benefits for woman for example it can reduce women’s cancer risk, one being ovarian cancer. Also, different types of birth control can help treat other conditions like heavy menstrual bleeding and most commonly use among teenagers for acne problems. It could help prevent so many unintended pregnancies among teenagers and in the lower-income women. In 2011, 45 percent of 6.1 million pregnancies in the United States were unintended that not continuing miscarriages. 42 percent of unintended pregnancies ended in abortion and 58 percent ended in child birth.

It cost the government more money to support an unintended pregnancy than it is to provide free birth control to all American women. In 2010 51 percent of the nearly 4 million births in the United States were paid for by government health insurance like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Public insurance covered 68 percent of the 1.5 million births that were unplanned, versus the 38 percent that were planned. Overall, the government spent $21 billion on unintended pregnancies that year.

The government would rather spend billions of dollars every year supporting unintended pregnancies than provide free birth control or long -lasting methods like IUD's.  It would be great for birth control to be free for anyone that needs it or wants to use it but there could also be a set copay for the consumer that is affordable and reasonable.

Should The Wall Be Built?

On November 09,2018 a blogger posted an article titled” Immigration”, the blogger explains the rapid declining in deportation of illegal immigrants. The blogger explains that many illegal immigrants are returning to their native country to seek new opportunities offered to them. Even though violence and corruptions are at their high the people have a better chance to thrive freely without being judged by the immigration status.  President Trump’s focus is to build the famous wall to keep immigrants out of the U.S, but currently the wall is irrelevant because immigrants are returning to their native land.

I agree with the blogger, Trump should find a new focus instead of trying to build a wall. Secondly boarder security is important matter for national security but building a wall won’t solve the issue I personally think it will make more issues down the line. President Trump should focus on bringing troops back home to be with their families instead of sending away. He should consider all the data that is provided to him and realize that his promise of building a wall is not a great idea anymore. There are better things he can be working on for example providing more shelter for all the homeless Americans all over the United States.

Why Should Marijuana Be Legalized?

One of the most controversial topics in the United States is the legalization of marijuana, many are against it and many if favor. We are in 2018 a lot of things have changed, and illegal marijuana should be a thing of the past. Why not use something that is causing so much crime and harm to the nation, and use it in the federal and states favor? The legalization of marijuana has many economic benefits like job creations, lower crime rates, and added tax revenue for federal or state government.

There are many pros and cons about the legalization of marijuana but am here to shade some light on some of the things in favor of marijuana.  The legalization of cannabis could produce more jobs for Americans for example more farmers, processors, distributors, and retails jobs will be available. Major industries could also have an opportunity by producing new and improved greenhouses for farmers that will help produced better product. The dismantling of major drug cartels and lowering crime rates around Unites States boarders will also be a huge win. Helping the states government to save money in the process for example the fewer court cases that involve marijuana results in fewer incarcerations, meaning the state doesn’t have to spend money on another inmate saving millions of dollars in the process.

Another major reason for the legalization of cannabis is for its medical use. Many patients use marijuana in different forms for different medical reasons, many still buy it illegally making it unsafe for the consumer laced with harmful products causing more harm than good.  Legalizing marijuana on the other hand provided an improvement of quality and safety control, reassuring the consumer that what they are consuming is safe and run no risk of ending at the hospital because of a bad reaction to the product. Patients with epilepsy use cannabis oils that is rubbed on the bottom of their feet to help them control the episode they may be experiencing. Other patients also benefit form marijuana for example cancer patients, people suffering for chronic pain, migraines, and Crohn’s disease. The list goes on and on, but many patients currently still buy marijuana illegally making it harder for them to get any type of relief for their medical problems.

Many will still disagree on this topic saying that marijuana should be illegal, that it is a drug and people should just go see a doctor to get prescription medications instead. What for so they can run the risk of overdosing and in some cases lead to death? Although marijuana does not cure their disease or medical condition it does help improve their quality of life. Legalizing marijuana will help thousands of people by either proving a better paying jobs or helping others with a medical problem.

How a Democratic House Could Work With Trump

In The Editorial Board article, “How a Democratic House Could Work With Trump,” the author argues that President Trump made may promises during his run for office, but has felt short on completing all those promises. President Trump is too busy storming the southern boarders and trying to find the way for Mexico to build the boarder wall, instead on trying to find a way to reduce prescription medication cost for Medicare patients.  It seams that Trump completely forgot about all his promises once he got to office, yes of course he has worked highly on his promise to secure the boards and make it harder for immigrant workers to get jobs in the United States.

The author provides enough evidence to support his claim for example, in 2016 Mr. Trump promised to deliver a plan immediately after getting elected. That priority went nowhere with this Congress, then later he guaranteed that after midterms he would provide it. “It further muddles matters that Mr. Trump’s words often seem to contradict his actions, as when he portrays himself as champion of coverage for pre-existing conditions even as he urged Congress to vote to repeal Obamacare without replacing it or as his administration declines to defend the provision against legal challenges.

The author provides a sense of hope once the November elections are concluded hoping that more Democrats are elected and have a better control of the law making.  In all if it helps the country and the people to have more Democrats in office to get things done, I agree. Hopefully Trump starts changing his way of thinking and starts getting more hands on with the Medicare situations. Helping many Americans on a day to day basic.

I agree with the author, Trump should start focusing on some or all his promises if he wants a chance at re-election. President Trump should stop talking and start providing evidence that he actually care about the things he says to his followers.  Believe it or not people take that into consideration when they are voting, and if you failed to fulfill your previous promises they are more likely not to believe you anymore.

Hillary Clinton's Master class in Distraction

In Michelle Cottle article, “Hillary Clinton’s Master class in Distraction”, she emphasizes that Hillary is still upset with her electoral loss against Donald Trump. Mrs. Clinton has tried to get more popularity among the citizens of the United States, but sadly she is only contradicting herself and making more people dislike her.  Hillary has become a popular topic among Republicans during their reelection campaigns, the Republicans talk about how Hillary says that President Trump should be hold accountable for the sexual misconduct claims against him, yet nothing was done when a woman said she was raped by Mr. Clinton in 1978.

Cottle provides evidence to support her claim that Hillary is out to destroy President Trump and his followers. For example, she mentions that on October 9,2018 Mrs. Clinton sat down with CNN and said, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.” Again here Mrs. Clinton is talking about President Trump and how she see’s him as a treat to the United States. Her main goal is to impeach Trump just to prove a point that he is not the best person to be in office and not focusing on what is best for the nation.  Hillary hopes to accomplish that by finding anything she can to dirty his name and make people hate him.

Cottle expresses frustration in her article, for example when she mentions the upcoming elections Democrats and Republicans should be focusing more on talking about health care and jobs rather than talking about impeachment or non-important matters. Cottle is trying to shed light on some of the nonsense Hillary is doing in order to gain popularity with out success.

I agree with Cottle, I believe Mrs. Clinton should focus on what’s best for the Nation rather than focusing on just President Trump. Hillary should try to gain citizens trust or votes by proving she is the right person and what her intensions really are instead of distracting herself with certain matters she has no proof for.  If the allegations against Trump are true or not are uncertain but only time will tell.

Nikki Haley to Resign as Trump's Ambassador to the U.N.

On October 9,2018 The New York Times published an article by Maggie Haberman, Mark Landler and Edward Wong titled Nikki Haley to Resign as Trump’s Ambassador to the U.N. Maggie Haberman and Mark Landler are White House correspondent’s and Edward Wong is a diplomatic and international correspondent for The New York Time. This is an interesting and informative piece regarding Nikki Haley’s political journey in the Trump administration.

Although Haley has not always agreed with President Trump with the ways he addresses some issues at the White House, Haley has put those differences aside and focused on what was good for the nation. Haley addressed the sexual misconduct against Trump in a past interview with CBS Haley said, “I think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up.” This is a must read article for those that was to know more about Nikki Haley and what plans she has in the future politics.
